Just as a heads-up, I've learned that a home in our neighborhood was broken into last weekend. The alarm apparently frightened them off and nothing was taken, but it serves as a warning. We need to guard our own properties and keep an eye on each other's as well.

Heads up!

Last week we had a bear or some other large animal enter our property, our trash was the attraction. The last encounter required the animal to go over our 5 foot chain link fence, drag our 90 gallon trash container 8 feet and brake a chain in three places I had installed to keep the lid closed.

I contacted Nevada Wild Life, they took a bear report. Their stand seems to be if it's a man made attraction, which it was, it should be removed or contained. Trash is now in the garage.

I know there has been other encounters in the area recently.

I live at 492 Alpine View Ct, on the north east corner of Jacks Valley Road and Alpine View Ct.

I would be interested in this subject as well. Having just received a huge electric bill. My concerns are noise, and view besides the functioning of the turbine. How large does one need to provide enough energy to be worth while. What tax credits would be available. Does NV Energy provide assistance? I have more questions than answers. Is solar a better option or more cost effective? When the wind blows, it howls. But there are days were no wind is around. But the sun seems to shine brightly almost everyday.

We should be thinking about ways to provide alternative energy in Alpine View. Consider a community windmill(s):
Could this be done under present zoning laws and our CCandR's. Would windmill be OK for individuals?

Clear Creek Tahoe still has an industrial size well, however, the 6" pipe running from the well now ends
a few hundred yards from the lake near the golf green. We saw another large pump on the south east side of the property. It was running, and the operator indicated that IVGID gray water (which we could see flowing out of a 10" pipe into a small pond) was being pumped up to the larger pond. This larger pond has a dedicated pump that currently feeds a functioning irrigation system that takes care of the fairway greens. Additional irrigation is being installed to promote re-growth of the original vegetation disturbed by the construction.

Lee, I think that's an excellent idea. I'd also suggest asking other non-members if lower dues or other inducements would persuade them to join or re-join (I believe a number of others were members in past years). It would provide valuable insight for next year. Some of the longstanding members such as Bob Gaw could identify former members by inspection of a list of residents.
